February 28 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

The WASHINGTON RARE BOOK GROUP invites you to join us in-person for:

A visit to the U.S. Naval Observatory Library

Tuesday, February 28th, 2023

5:00-7:00 PM

Members of the Washington Rare Book Group are now welcome to register for our February in-person event at the U.S. Naval Observatory Library in Northwest DC.

During this evening visit to one of the nation’s oldest scientific institutions, we’ll hear about the history of the Observatory, see some of its oldest telescopes, and visit the rare book vault for an opportunity to get hands-on with a few of the oldest astronomy books in the collection.

The event will be led by Morgan Black, Library Director for the Observatory, and Geoff Chester, Public Affairs Officer.

Driving directions and other logistics information will be provided to attendees. The Observatory is not easily accessible via public transportation.

Please note, space is limited! Please RSVP by Wednesday, February 22. Registration will close once the event reaches capacity.
